The WVU Board of Governors is composed of 17 members. The mission of this body is general supervision and control over the academic and business affairs of West Virginia University, including West Virginia University Institute of Technology, the Community and Technical College of West Virginia University Institute of Technology, West Virginia University at Parkersburg, and Potomac State College of West Virginia University. The WVU Board of Governors meets at least six times per year.
The ACCE is composed of a classified staff member from each of the public higher education colleges, universities, and state community and technical colleges in West Virginia. This body meets monthly to discuss staff issues and raise awareness about staff concerns. The employee elected to this position also serves on the Staff Council and provides a monthly column to the Mountaineer Spirit.
The West Virginia University Staff Council was created to provide the classified staff employees of West Virginia University a means of conveying their concerns on employee-employer relations. The Chair presides at all regular and special meetings, serves as a member of the WVU Cabinet, and provides a monthly column to the Mountaineer Spirit.
