PURPOSE:
To assist WVU retirees in situations requiring identification.
WVU RETIREE CARD ELIGIBILITY:
Employees must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to receive a WVU
Retiree Identification / photo identification card;
- the employee must start to receive a retirement income from TIAA-CREF, State Teachers
Retirement System, or Federal Government; and one of the following;
- have contributed thirty (30) years of service to WVU; or
- be sixty (60) years of age and contributed five (5) years of service to WVU; or
- be fifty-five (55) years of age and contributed twenty (20) years of service to WVU; or
- be a disabled individual and contributed ten (10) years of service to WVU; or
- a participant in the West Virginia University Severance Plan.
ISSUED BY:
Retiree Identification Cards will be issued by the Benefits Office in the Division of Human Resources, based on established retiree guidelines.
USE OF THE CARD:
The WVU Retiree Identification Card entitles former employees to use West Virginia
University's libraries ( a library card will also be required), Coliseum, Natatorium,
Mountainlair and other facilities.
WVU retirees also have the opportunity to purchase season tickets for West Virginia
University athletic team(s) and cultural events, such as the University Arts Series, at
the same discount offered to current WVU full-time regular employees.
