YEARS OF SERVICE FOR LONGEVITY PAY PURPOSES POLICY
PURPOSE
To outline the manner by which West Virginia University will determine an employees years of service for calculating employee longevity pay in accordance with WV Code 18B-9-2(j), 18B-9-3, and 18B-9-5(b) and West Virginia Board of Trustees Series 62.
SCOPE
All full-time and part-time regular classified and non-classified employees at West Virginia University, including those on the regional campuses, are covered under this policy.
POLICY
Classified and Non Classified employees with three or more years of service and in a regular position appointment will receive an annual salary supplement equal to fifty dollars times the employee’s years of service, not to exceed twenty years of service. Years of service for longevity purposes is based upon accumulative years of service as an employee with the State of WV; time is prorated according to position(s) FTE; and, time off payroll is not included.
Faculty members are not eligible to receive the longevity annual increments.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR INTERPRETATION
The responsibility for interpretation of this policy rests with the Director of Human Resources, West Virginia University.
