INFORMATIONAL LISTINGS/MAILING LABELS POLICY
PURPOSE
To outline the process whereby the WVU Department of Human Resources, may provide computer-generated informational listings and mailing labels in accordance with WV Board of Trustees policy, State and federal law.
SCOPE
University units may request informational listings/mailing labels under this policy, including those on the regional campuses.
POLICY
WVU will maintain private information as protected under state or federal law, and the WV Board of Trustees policy, including but not limited to certain financial, personnel, student and patient information and histories. Protected means restriction of disclosure and viewing without proper authorization, and careful disposal of documents containing such information.
Informational listings and mailing labels are available for the purpose of conducting University business, in accordance with established procedures. Only information as authorized for release in the WVU Directory will be permitted for release. A nominal fee may be assessed. Requests for informational listings/mailing labels are to be submitted in writing by the appropriate budget authority to the Director of Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION
The Records Unit in the Department of Human Resources, at 293-5700 or P.O. Box 6640, is available to answer questions or provide additional information regarding this policy.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR INTERPRETATION
The responsibility for interpretation of this policy rests with the Director of Human Resources, West Virginia University.
