Mountaineer Temps

Whether the need is for help during absences or during the search process, to cover peak or seasonal demands, or to staff a special project of limited duration, the University environment makes short-term employment needs virtually impossible to escape. To help, the WVU Mountaineer Temps Program was created. Program positions may be temporary (up to 9 months) or casual (up to 225 hours).

Those accepting temporary or casual positions are considered external applicants for regular vacancies and are ineligible for benefits. This program does offer the flexibility of temporary employment, which is attractive to many candidates.

Recent Mountaineer Temps Program Changes

In order to comply with state employment guidelines and to streamline and improve services, WVU�s Mountaineer Temps Program has announced some changes, effective immediately. Along with these new guidelines, Employment Services will also be introducing some new initiatives this Fall. Please click here for more information.

Applying for the Mountaineer Temps Program

To apply for the Mountaineer Temps Program, you must first complete a Mountaineer Temp Application. A resume may be submitted with the application but is not a substitute. Please read the following instruction letter for additional assitance with filling out the application.
