My supervisor has recently given me several new job duties. Do I qualify for an upgrade as a result?
Not necessarily. More work doesnt always mean that your paygrade changes, because each paygrade encompasses a wide range of points. Many other factors must be considered. But anytime duties are added to a position, a supervisor and employee should prepare a new PIQ and submit it to C&C for review. Whether or not the job title or paygrade changes, C&C needs to maintain a CURRENT copy of every positions PIQ.
-
A co-worker in higher paygrade is on a leave of absence and I am performing her duties. Am I eligible for additional pay?

If the employee is exempt, compensation in the form of STO on an hour-for-hour basis will be granted. Holiday STO must be used within six (6) months of being earned.

What are the entry rates for each paygrade?

If I get an upgrade, how much will my salary increase?

How long will it take to find out the results of my position review?
According to Series 62, the Classification and Compensation Unit has 30 working days, from the time that we receive the review request, to complete the review and make a recommendation. Extenuating circumstances (including the need to submit a request to the statewide Job Evaluation Committee [JEC] for further evaluation and review) may lengthen this process. However, the C&C unit has recently implemented a Fast-Track review process, in which we pledge to complete routine reviews in half the time14 days. Contact the unit at 293-5700 for information regarding specific situations.
If you need any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact our office at 293-5700.
