Purpose of this computer program
This program will give most employees an idea of their new salary levels after implementation of the October 1, 2008, pay raise.
It is not a replacement for your official salary increase notification from Human Resources, which will come to you via your Expert Business Offfice (EBO)
as a personalized memo on or about October 16, but most employees will find it accurate and easy to use.
The "estimated new salary" calculated is completely dependent upon the information that you enter and may vary slightly from the actual amount processed for
you (see "Employment or Job Status Changes" below). All classified employees (including new hires) on the payroll as of September 30, 2008, will either move
to the new entry rate or receive a 7% increase. New employees with eligible prior West Virginia service will be placed onto their appropriate years of service
on the salary schedule once that service is verified; and their appropriate October 1 raises based on the verified years will be recalculated.
New employees hired on or after October 1, 2008, will be brought to the new entry rates for their paygrades
(http://www.hr.wvu.edu) but will not receive additional raises as noted here.
Please note that this year's raise fully funds the
2001 classified salary schedule.
Service time through September 30, 2008, will be captured for purposes of placement on the appropriate year on the salary schedule
(.75 of a year or more rounds up to the next service year).
