West Virginia University provides its benefit-eligible employees with a variety of retirement programs including the following:

401(a) Defined Contribution Plan - Mandatory for all benefit-eligible employees
State Teachers Retirement System (TRS) - Grand fathered employees only
State Teachers Defined Contribution Program (TDC) - Grand fathered employees only
Phased Retirement Program
Supplemental Retirement Annuity

Eligible employees hired before July 1, 2001 may use accrued sick leave toward retirement health insurance premiums. More details are available here.
