Short-Term Disability Insurance

West Virginia University, through Fringe Benefits Management Company and Standard Insurance offers employees a Short-Term Disability program.

If due to sickness, injury or pregnancy, you are unable to perform with reasonable continuity the materal duties of your own occupation, or you are unable to earn more than 60% of your predsiability earnings while working in your own occupation, are considered disabled in accordance with this plan.

The weekly benefit is 60% of your predisability earnings reduced by deductible income. Short-term disability benefits may continue during disability until no longer disabled, but no longer than the 180th day of disability.
